When you buy a Volkswagen rest assured that we won't just watch you drive off into the distance – we'll stay right beside you. With dedicated After-Sales support which includes servicing, repairs and parts, our aim is to help keep your Volkswagen safely on the road for as long as possible.
Our extended warranty, toll-free customer service number and guaranteed parts and labour are proof of this. In addition, you can expect breakdown assistance, approved Body Repair Shops, as well as any advice that we think you may find useful.

3-year/120,000km warranty
All new Volkswagens will be covered by a 3-year/120,000km warranty (whichever comes first) inclusive in the price - proof of our confidence in Volkswagen's under-the-skin German engineering.
In contrast to packages from other car manufacturers which often restrict cover on items such as alarm immobilisers and air-conditioners to only 12 months, the Volkswagen warranty offers cover on such equipment for the full 3-year period, provided they are factory-fitted options.
Additionally, most of our models are covered by a 12-year anti-corrosion warranty.
The new Warranty is applicable to all models in the Volkswagen range sold in South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Lesotho and Swaziland.
Maintain your retail value.
You can be sure that your Volkswagen, whilst covered by the Volkswagen AutoMotion Service Plan or AutoMotion Maintenance Plan, will be maintained by qualified technical staff within the franchised Volkswagen Dealer network. You will have a complete service history from your Volkswagen Dealer, which means your Volkswagen will maintain its retail value.
Remember, your car should be serviced every 15,000km/1 year.

- Franchised Volkswagen Dealers are equipped with tools and equipment that have been specially developed to work on your car. Our mechanics are well-trained mechanics and are backed up by an extensive Parts Service.
- Franchised Dealers use only genuine parts that are designed to meet original equipment standards. These parts carry a 12-month parts and labour warranty that is valid at any Volkswagen Franchised Dealer around the country.
- Franchised Dealers work according to procedures and times that incorporate the Standard Services. This ensures that your car will always operate safely, economically, and retain its value when it has a valid service history at a Franchised Dealer.
- Volkswagen Dealers offer a range of services including the Exchange Parts Programme, genuine accessories to fit your car and Car Care products to help you protect and care for your car.
- The vehicle data shown in the service schedule of the owner's manual ensures that you will always receive the correct parts for the vehicle.
- The service schedule contains the detailed service requirements for your vehicle to the extent that the instructions to the mechanics are also included on the tear-out sections of the book. The return of this completed instruction with your invoice is the mechanic's acknowledgement that he/she has completed all the listed steps in the Standard Service.
- The stamped stub, which remains in the book, is confirmation that the service has been done. Proof of uninterrupted service is a pre-requisite for future warranty claims. So please remember to pass this information on to the next owner should you sell the vehicle.
- Regular servicing by an authorised Dealer keeps your vehicle in a safe and roadworthy condition and also ensures that it operates economically. It also assures you that potential problems are discovered timeously, before small faults develop into serious defects.
Express Service is a great new vehicle maintenance offering available from your closest participating Volkswagen Dealership. Each participating Dealership has a bay in their workshop dedicated solely to Express Service. So, while you enjoy a fresh cup of coffee or catch up on some work, they will carry out routine services and repairs to your vehicle, regardless of its age, in less than an hour and a half.
An Express Service includes one of the following:
- A routine or lubrication service
- The replacement of service and maintenance parts such as brakes, wipers, batteries, tyres* and shock absorbers*.
- An Express Visual Check that includes interior inspection, under body inspection, external body inspection and under bonnet inspection.

Never fear - Volkswagen Alert is here to help.
The Alert/Alert Plus programme provides a countrywide roadside assistance service 24 hours a day, every day of the year through Volkswagen of Namibia and its Dealer network.
What does it cover?
If you require roadside assistance as a result of a mechanical or electrical breakdown, a Volkswagen Alert Caddy will be dispatched to assist you. Where a roadside repair cannot be carried out, and the vehicle needs to be towed to the nearest Volkswagen Dealer, Volkswagen Alert will transport you and your passengers to a place of safety.
If you have a breakdown within 100km of your normal place of residence, and the vehicle cannot be repaired at the point of breakdown to render it mobile, you are entitled to courtesy transport to one address within 100km's of the breakdown. Volkswagen Alert will arrange and pay for your vehicle to be collected and repaired at the Dealership closest to where the breakdown occurred.
Where the breakdown has occurred further than 100km from your normal place of residence, Volkswagen Alert will arrange and pay to collect your vehicle and return it to your home after it has been repaired. As the vehicle owner, you have a number of options. You can choose either to have Volkswagen arrange for the safe storage of your vehicle, to pay hotel accommodation or to pay car rental, provided that you qualify as per the terms and conditions of the roadside assistance programme.
Do I qualify?
Volkswagen owners who purchased their vehicles after 1 May 2006 qualify for the new Volkswagen Alert benefits. The cover continues for a period of three years, or 120 000km, whichever occurs first.
Owners of the Touareg, Passat, R32, Eos, Caravelle or Sharan ranges (purchased after 1 May 2006) qualify for Volkswagen's premium Alert Plus programme. The cover continues for a period of five years, or 100 000km, whichever occurs first.
Owners who purchased their vehicles prior to the above mentioned date qualify for benefits stipulated in their Roadside Assistance booklet.
Sometimes, through no fault of your own, your Volkswagen may encounter a few knocks and dents. To help you make sure that your Volkswagen is returned in the same condition in which you purchased it, we have appointed a number of Volkswagen Motor Body Repairers that conform to our stringent standards.
Benefits
In the unfortunate event of your vehicle being involved in an accident, we strongly recommend that it be repaired by a Volkswagen Approved Motor Body Repairer. This will ensure that you receive the benefits of the warranty offered by the Approved Motor Body Repairer.
What warranty?
Although accident damage and related repairs are not covered by the warranties offered by Volkswagen Namibia, you can rest assured that our Approved Motor Body Repairers have met a set of stringent criteria, including substantial investments in their facilities and equipment. Before they're added to our ranks, they're required to enter into a formal binding agreement with Volkswagen of Namibia.
Volkswagen Approved Motor Body Repairers commit to the following:
- They will perform all body and paint services in accordance with the guidelines specified by Volkswagen Namibia.
- They will only use genuine Volkswagen parts for all repairs if the warranty offered by the manufacturer or importer has not expired or lapsed.
- They guarantee that all work performed shall be free of defects in material and workmanship for a period equal to the outstanding new Volkswagen's body warranty.
- They guarantee that, in respect of paintwork, the work will be free from defects for a minimum warranty period of 3 years.
