The Touareg’s headlights are bold and distinctive, while the unmistakable U-shaped grill dazzles in chrome. Both the front and rear bumpers are aerodynamically enhanced, and the taillights are bright and prominent to compliment the aggressive front.

Inside the Touareg, the 11-speaker sound system, comprehensive Climatronic air-conditioning and metres of leather cocoon you no matter what the exterior conditions. The instrument panel and multi-function display are elegantly integrated. From here, the driver has almost intuitive access to all controls, including the onboard computer monitoring system that delivers updates on fuel consumption, the outside air temperature and trip information. Under the bonnet, the V10 TDI engine boasts the revolutionary Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) .The DPF system effectively removes carbon particulates from the exhaust and converts harmful exhaust gases in the same way as a catalytic converter. The result is engine emissions that have less of an impact on the environment.

Faced with an extreme incline, the Touareg barely pauses clambering up hills with gradients of up to 45°. It can also cope with a side-slope angle of up to 35°, with impressive ramp, approach and departure angles too.

• The Touareg’s ground clearance is impressive at up to 300mm.
• A 6-speed Tiptronic® gearbox ensures smooth transition both on and off road.
• Servotronic® speed-sensitive variable steering assistance.
• Continuous Damping Control (CDC) air suspension (standard on the V10 and R50, optional on other models) automatically adjusts ride height according to speed and driving conditions.

Safety has always been an integral part of the Touareg’s make up. Driver and passenger airbags are standard (along with side-impact and side-curtain airbags), as well as ABS and the electronic stabilisation programme (ESP). The electronic differential lock (EDL), hydraulic brake assist (HBA) and anti-spin regular (ASR) further add to the Touareg`s driving systems. Your safety, as always, comes first.
